Gold, Silver with a Trifecta

Mark in S.E. IA

New member
I was out digging in the dirt today :) The first place I went to didn't pan out too good. I only found 4 wheat's and I think it's a Silver plated watch, I don't think it's solid silver. It's still soaking with the nickles wheat's.

The second place I went to was a hole lot better. This was one of those places that the X505 could tell the difference between a nickel, pull-tabs and can slaw. The nickels were jumping between 9 an 18, the pull-tabs and can slaw were jumping between 15 and 27. It sure made it easy to find the nickels and I found a bunch of them. I think I found over 15 clad an older nickels plus a V nickel and 3 Buff's.

One of the nickel signals I was getting was jumping between 15 and 24 and that was just a lil bit different then the nickels and pull-tabs I was finding and that turned out to be the prettiest 10K Gold ring that I have ever found. It has 6 Diamond chips and and a big emerald stone. The picture just does not show how beautiful this ring is.

I also found a silver ring, the V, Buff's, several wheat's that are still soaking in water so I don't have a picture of them yet.

Right now I got a picture of the ring and the nice silver coins I found today with a Dime Trifecta.

Please do not ask me as to where I was MDing because I can not say, sorry

Tim, If you own a Xterra then you got a silver magnet. I use the X505 with the 10.5 MF DD coil.

Also I MD at parks, schools, yards in town and in the country, farm fields and some times in the woods. I MD everywhere, lol

As far as telling you the type of place I was at yesterday, Sorry I can't, I'm having a problem with somebody that lives in my area and if he figures out where I'm MDing then he just might go there and clean the place out before I am able to get back there. All I can say is that I was digging in the dirt

Nice ring and silver....My nickles are tid# 12-14...12 solid is 99% of the time a nickle.Does the coil/soil/sens you are using cause the 9-18 reading? What do dimes come in at?...Thanks

Bob it's rare for any deep old nickel in my area to lock on one number. I use the 10.5 MF DD coil and the Jefferson's and Buff most times come in between 9 to 15. V's tend to come in a lil higher. The place I was at the GB was 16 and most places a round here the GB is 10 to 13. My Sen was set a 20 which is max on the X505. I never go below 18 on the Sen.

Very nice ring and coins. Always good to get out and dig. I'm busy with deer season right now, so the 705 is getting a rest!

Congrats on the sweet Gold Ring! Very nice Old Silver coins also! You had a great hunt! Very well done! Beale.

I got things all cleaned up today. I took the back off of the watch and it turns out to be a Sterling silver watch. Sweeeeet, I've never found a silver watch before.
I did a Google search on the maker of the watch but I did not find any info.

The Ring is Sterling silver too. The V nickel is a 1906,, I got a 1919 and 2 other ND Buff's and 20 wheat's.

I got to say, Yesterday was in the top 5 for one of my better day's this year.

Awww...no pics of the watch face??

That was a heck of a day Mark. Pretty admirable by any standard here in the states. :clapping:

way to go
I should be so lucky

I found one just like it. The only difference is that it was 14K and had a ruby stone and it sold on eBay for $219.00. Mine is only 10K so it's not worth all that much but I'm still happy that I found it. That makes 4 gold rings now that I have found so far this year.

Thanks guys for the nice Replies

I plan on going back to that same place this weekend and I hope to find a few more nice finds......
