Hello everyone, I’m new to FTF. I’ve been reading about GM’s, Deeptech, Tesoro’s, some very interesting reading on here. Being a Golden Mask user, there’s not a great deal posted about GM or any beep and dig analogue machines here in the UK. Since you seem such a friendly and well informed bunch, I decided to join up. Granted, the GM 6 is a hybrid with a screen but I feel this forum suits my interests best as I’m 80% analogue. I also run a Fisher F75se and it’s proven a good machine so far, but I confess I’m not ‘digging it’ if you’ll forgive the joke. I’ve been detecting since the late 70’s but stopped in my teens in favour of cars, cameras and the other obvious teenage distractions. Started again prompted by a mates passion for metal detecting and the kind loan of a Garrett Euro Ace in 2021. Gravitated to GM after much reading, asking questions and trying to avoid the ‘hard sale’ of big branding, give me two tone analogue any day. Love the recovery speed and depth and not having to choose one in compromise to the other, it’s unmasking ability, the informative variations in tone and the very useful histogram, a brilliant idea rendering welcome information especially on deeper targets. Not much dealer support here in the UK, only one small dealer but a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable guy. I just wanted to say Hi to you all and to ask a question if I may? I’m considering the purchase of an additional used GM7 to my 6. Since I cannot share coils between the two, I was wondering if any of you good folk run both machines and if so, how do they compare? Is a 7 worth the investment in comparison as there seems to be no videos or opinions bar one quick review that I’ve read. So, genuine informed opinion would be much appreciated.
