Golden Umax GB

Has anyone ever added an external GB adjustment to this machine, seems like it would be a good mod, except for your warranty.

You don't have to add an external control to the Golden Umax. All you need to do is remove the two screws on the front and pull the front toward you and you will see two very small adjustable controls on the board. (DON'T TOUCH THE BOTTOM CONTROL.) You must have a PLASTIC SCREW DRIVER to make the adjustments with. Don't even think about using a small metal screw driver. Metal screw driver will detune the circuit and will break the control. (DON'T TOUCH THE BOTTOM CONTROL.) Start by burying some dimes at different depths so you can check to see if you are making progress. Check with your detector to see how deep your detector will go before you start. With your plastic screw driver adjust the top control just a small amount and check the depth. If the depth improved you are going the right directions, if not go the other direction. You are adjusting the Golden Umax for your local conditions. When you bury the dimes go all the way to a foot. You are going to make a MONSTER of your Golden Umax unless your ground is really bad. Nothing is going to fix bad ground. By doing this you are taking a chance of really make a hot machine or making a big mess and voiding your warranty. Don't stare until you get a small plastic screw driver.

You are on your own. Be really sure that there is no metal except the dimes in the ground.
