Golden Umax

Hi
I don't think ever posted here before.
Recently I bought a mint Golden U max with the extra 5" concentric coil.
Not a mark on it.
I had one of there little detectors yrs ago but didn't care for the shallow depth so I sold it.
Now about 40 detectors later I bought this one.
I really didn't give this one here much of a chance either and mentioned I might let it go and two people wanted it right away.
I sold it to the first one but he started with this and that and the old "Tesoro does not warranty 2nd owners".
I know what he was leading up to so I said the heck with it and I kept it.

I tried what 53 silver did with it in his video but I could not duplicate it exactly, so I sent it to Teoro to see if they could
bring her back to a like new condition. This has the new tones and my old one didn't. I am waiting for it now and I think I will definitely keep this one for quite awhile.
Seems to be like there is a little cult going on here for this little variable notch detector. I have three other detectors
Nokta fors Relic
Makro Racer 2 with pro package and
I just traded another detector for a Fisher F5. I had a F5 a few yrs back

I will try and start posting about these detectors if anybody is interested.
Thanks for reading my post
David

Yes, I have a ' New tone' Golden uMax and love it. I am the second owner and never had a problem with it. People get to hung up on warranty as rarely do You need it as those Tesoro's are built like little tanks.
I don't use the notch much. I put it on 0 Disc. Sens. Before it chatters and threshold barley hum in all metal before setting in Disc. Mode. Also use the Brown donut as it gets at least an extra inch depth. The New Tones are hotter to begin with IMHO. I have No problem hitting 9" Coins in My Mild Ground with this set-up. I found some nice Silver with it that My other 2 Big guns missed believe it or not.

I think I am going to use it a lot and not going to sell it.
Has two coils both in mint shape and there seems to be a little cult following with this little detector now.

Yep the Beep and Dig forum is basically the Old Tesoro forum. A lot of good info there on these detectors.

If you decide you want to sell it let me know David.----Harold won't sell me his!!-----Seriously, those Goldens are great little machines.----I wish I would have kept the (new tones) Golden that I purchased new.-----You guys hang on to them---as you already know--"they're good 'uns".

The golden is on its way back to me. I will post pics of it-it is in beautiful shape.
I just sold the mark racer 2 with pro package and that leaves me with the Golden umax and a fisher F5 and nokta fors relic.
