goldfield finds for today

Hi all, went out today. Picked up some really nice finds. The relic at top of the photo read at -10 inall metal mode, but heard a really nice sound. When I swiched to all metal mode with some discrimination, the item read +34. All relics were found on a hillside, below an old house site some 5 metres down the hill. I rake the leaves and branches away, before detecting.
Regards Angela

That almost looks like some kind of old grate or vent cover or something. Do you think it's brass or something other than iron to get such a high reading.? Great stuff.

Gi'day Gary,
I'm from Gippsland in Victoria. I've already gathered you're also from Aussieland. So whereabouts do you go detecting mostly if it's the goldfields?
Cheers Angela

G'Day Angela
mostly beachcombing, I live too far away from the goldfields. I'm from Adelaide, South Australia. The closest to me is the Echunga goldfields, Cheerz for now!

Yea, that makes sense, now that you mention it. I can see where you'd put the belt through the loop thingy. Pretty fancy stuff.

Hi beachguy777,
A lady just recently came to my place of work, and saw the buckle in a display cabinet. She told me that she (who is about 75 years of age!), had not long ago inherited a belt buckle arrangement, from her mother. (who's since passed away). It was the same looking one as mine, except that there are two halves that link into each other. So I only have the one half (speaking of the top buckle in the posted pic). Which means I'll be going back to that site to try and find (detect!) the other half, hopefully! This lady also told me that she'd visit some day with hers, to show me what they look like together. Can't wait to see them!
Cheers Angela:)
