Goldquest field test.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a field test on GS, type of ground balance, etc.

I know of no published field test. I have not supplied any mag. writers with a detector to field test.
There is no ground balance on the Goldquest. Most PI detector's don't have them.

Will PI detectors probe deeper than analog
detectors when tested over the same buried object ???

Hi Joe,
In theory, PI detectors can go considerably deeper, and also generally in practice. This is because the receive operation occurs when the transmitter is off, which makes it easier to respond to weak signals. You can also put up the transmitter power quite easily, which is hard to do with a balanced coil continuous wave detector, without running into balance problems.
PI's do not respond to ground conductivity and respond less to certain types of iron mineralisation. They are also effective in, or near sea water.
There is always a trade off though. Metallic iron discrimination is more difficult to achieve and battery drain tends to be higher.

Everyone is looking for a deeper seeking
machine, and for good reason. We all know Gold is heavier than other metals and therefore sinks faster and deeper, so to find it one has to have a machine that will reach it. Enjoy your PI Forum
