I havent had my Goldquest SS very long.I would like to hear how some of you Goldquest users setup for hunting in saltwater. I find that when I hunt in 10us, even at the fastest SAT, i still get a lot of threshold fluctuations. I am afraid because of this I wont be able to hear the deep gold rings. Any suggestions for hunting in saltwater would be appreciated. Thanks, Mark L.

Hi Mark
As we increase the gain, along comes a little roughness in the threshold. For the most part it shouldn

aquasearch would really settle down with just a small amount of decrease
DO NOT WORRRRRY ABOUT DEPTH, YOU HAVE THE BEST AND THE DEEPEST, AND MUCH MORE DEPTH THAN MOST WANT TO HANDLE.
I HAVE MANY MORE PICS OF THE FEATS OF THIS FINE P I MACHINE

Hi Mark,
Mr. Bills right about the GQ having the extra horsepower to use if the area allows, Here in Ca. we can't use our Pi units near full throttle like most do back east. We still can get close to maximum depth once you learn a few tricks with the delay and Sat speed. Because I hunt the same Bay-watch beaches you and the others search, I know from experience which settings work best for our area. The object is to have a constant smooth threshold, This is the key ingredient to recovering those deep faint signals.
Don't worry about using full Sat or even retarding the delay when entering the surf, Just remember that keeping a smooth threshold is more important than trying to run the unit with a higher sensitivity trying to get more depth which will actually get you less depth when operating the unit with poor stabileily
I'll be hititng Zuma and Santa Monica beach every two weeks if you'd like to hookup, We can then share what works best when we meet.
HH, Paul (Ca)
