Goldquest SS V2 target shooting

colt

New member
I was doing some testing in my back yard with my GQ SS V2 using an 11" mono coil. The targets were one nickel and two gold AZ nuggets, one nugget was a 7 grain and the other was a 17 grain, I hit the nickel at a solid 16" the 17 grain nugget at 9" and the 7 grain nugget at a solid 6", these are test with all targets on top of the ground, but I have covered the area with black sand and hot rocks gathered from areas where I have found nuggets in the past.

Folks this is pretty impressive stuff, from a PI detector that does not have a ground balance option, this is from a turn on and go detector. I set the reject to 10uS and SAT at half way and swept the coil over the ground, two knobs to adjust, that is it.

you figures are correct. I think you will find if you are in gold country, you want to use the DD. Without ground balance mono's can be difficult in hotter ground. Don
