Eric, can you convert my new Deepstar 3 to this added new target ID on iron.
 
Thats a nice looking detector, how about price range and is the unit splash proof, it looks like it is. Grubstake
 
Hi Grubstake,
The lid is sealed with silicone gasket. All the controls are sealed ones, plus there is and additional O ring on each control to prevent fine dust getting into the shaft seal. All toggle switches have waterproof sealing covers, and the headphones are on a pigtail to prevent water getting into the box, as it could with a standard jack socket. You can't submerge it, but it will stand just about everything else.
Price will be announced a bit later, but it will be good value for money.

Thanks Eric, I hunt some times in the west coast beaches, in storms. And It looked like it would take the hard rain, I just wanted to be sure. I'm mainly a nugget hunter, but I like the beach also. My wife loves diamond rings. Grubstake
 
Like the features, would the unit also be avalible without the probe?? Thanx Geo
 
Paul, are you sure this machine can see *under* nails and iron? Seems to me that it's for 1) depth 2) tough ground 3) TID, but I don't know if any machine can see through nails, ala Compass 77b style, and still retain the 3 points I list. Whatcha say Eric?
 
what panel meter , do you mean the batt. meter has a dual purpose ??

I have never heard of this Goldscan is there a link for it ??? and how much does it cost ???
do you hook it up to a coil or how does it work ???

Hi Martin,
There is not much on it as yet, as it was only announced in February, and the first pre production model is on trial with Mr Bill. There are some pictures on his Surfscanner website, but a little adjustment is needed, as some of the text is blocked out. There will also likely be more pictures when he gets back from Arizona.
