A question for Eric . I have an early Goldscan but im not sure what model or designation it is . 2 pics attatched of the box .(Would this normally be chest mounted?) The big white stick supports an 11 1/2 inch OD. coil. Some of the components inside the magic box are labelled "checked 1992" . So i presume it is from this period. I'm also desperate for a users handbook . Any help would be very much appreciated. JT.
 
Yes, it is a Goldscan 2 of 1992 vintage. It was intended to be chest mounted with a shoulder strap and waist belt. Battery pack may need replacing if it is the original, as 17 years is well past the "replace by" date. I will have a look to see if I have a manual, but somehow I doubt it. Lots of this model were sold so there is a chance that another owner might be able to copy it for you.
