I've been detecting in saltwater with my Goldscan5c. Just wading and only the coils been immersed with the control box sealed up in a bag and hip or chest mounted with access to the knobs.
Has anyone else tried this?
Any opinions?

Hi

Yes, the coils, pulsepowers, are waterproof without problem
but, not the case ...
just rinsed after the coil at the connector.

David, I sent you a PM

I have an Ortlieb camera chest bag/rig that i bought to waterproof my Goldscan 5C. I intend to install 2 ikelite connectors in the bag so i can plug my headphones and coil into the bag. This would be completely sealed, with wires internally going to the detector and the zipper is sealed too. I have not completed the project yet, but have all of the parts. Don't submerge it until everything is IP-68. Good Luck
