Recieved my SS today , after unpacking went off to the beach locally, chestmounted in a camera bag, and was able to use headphones with a short lead ,every thing worked a treat ,although did not find anything gold on my first outing was well pleased with the detectors performance , even with a 11" coil the pinpointing was a breeze ,feel sure there is a lot more to come once im able to sort out the different responses to a target and like all new detectors takes a bit of time to ajust to it ,
happy hunting JM

Do not think that all double beeps are iron. I have found several gold medallions that gave double beeps and one gold chain...However they were less blaring strong as bobby pins...The Goldquest SS does have some descriptive audio that you will learn with experience.......Frank

Oh Oh! <img src="/metal/html/sad.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":sad"> Thanks for that tip. I've been leaving a few of those double beeps in the sand. So far they've always been booby pins.

that one percent can change your day. It is really as shame to spend several hours day several days a week and 30 to 50 weeks of the year just to be out there and let the one item that would have made your day...left in the ground because you thought it was iron. Practising and observing "Self-Discipline" is learned not taught.
Here is a double beep target...14K.

your exactly right frank; I found a 10kt. nugget ring that double rang, also a toe ring, the stud earrings I found did also. I thought women had stopped wearing bobby pins until I started beach hunting.
