Gone fishing!........

Back in the spring I won a salmon charter fishing trip on Lake MI at our club hunt. After canceling twice due to the weather we finally got to go on Thursday.
The lake was as calm as it ever get's. We headded out at dawn and while setting lines the first salmon hit. My youngest son got to reel him in. Only a few minutes later #2 was hooked and my oldest son reeled him in. Next in line was my dad who had to wait a bit while 12 lines trolled through the water. He got to bring a nice one into the boat after a bit of a wait. I went last and got to land mine as well. We did have a few that got loose but everyone brought home some salmon fillets. This is the first time the 4 of us got to do something like this together. Three generations haveing a great time, It don't get much better than that!

Here are my boys reeling in their first salmon. Notice how calm the lake is.

Now here is an ugly character that was attached to one of the salmon that came in on the boat ahead of us. This lamprey was about 12" to 14" long.

Thanks for sharing your family with us, Mike. It's always special when multi-generations can get to gather and enjoy the day together regardless of what you're doing. I can remember our family getting together when mom and dad were still with us. Now that they're gone, we don't do that much anymore and I miss it.

Congrats Mike on you, your sons and dad getting to go fishing together and Salmon steaks will be had by all! That Lamprey looks scary to me...wouldn't want to meet one in the water! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
