Thieves broke into my truck last night. Really enjoyed this machine while I had her...Xterra 70. Just got the W.O.T. coil from Kurt friday. They stole quite a bit...homeowners should cover about half. kieth
 
Unfortunately it will probably show up on Craigslist or eBay. Someone that steals can't be smart enough to use one.
 
I hate thieves, I would put the word out to any Pawn shops within 50 miles. I know it seams like alot of work, but the Law Dogs don't really care about anything under a grand to help find it, believe me, I know.................Mark
 
That should be easy to spot with THAT coil. These guys are right surf Craigslist and eBay. You would have to go INTO the pawn shops. Some are dishonest and might even hide it if they know it's hot. Think about who might have stolen it in your area. Kids, gang bangers, cash will flush out kids.

One of the only things that I hate worse than a thief, is a petty thief.
I can honestly say, that if I were ever to risk going to jail for stealing something, it would have to be something worth more than a used metal detector.:nono:
 
Keith... Try placing a want add in area newspaper. Say that you want to
buy a used Minelab metal detector. You may get a response which may lead to the recovery of your detector. I did this several times in my law enforcement career and recovered a lot of stolen property. TomB
 
There has always been thieves, but it seems that now a days people are stealing any and everything that isn't nailed down more than ever.I had my truck broken into once and had some valuable stuff stolen from me. I understand your frustration and anger. I don't keep anything of real value in my vehicle anymore because of it.
 
Thanks guys. Been one of those days. Just started dealing with the insurance company...i think I'd rather go to the dentist.
 
That sucks !!! And I know the feeling. Good advise about craigslist, ebay, and the pawnshops. Especially the pawnshops, do not call them especially with specifics but definately check them out. A friend had his house broken into and a dvd player, ps3, Marten compound bow, and a camera were all found in a pawn shop by him about 4 miles from his house.

Well...I see where someone posted on Craigslist in my city wanting a Minelab for $600.00. Don't know if it's one of my buddies or the Police....I'm thinking it is the police. I'm hoping that the thieves greed will hook up with their stupidity and respond to the ad! Makes me feel better
 
i fell your pain.I came home late one night from the gold fields and didn't take my backpack out of my truck went out the next morning the backpack was gone.In it was my headphones,a couple hunting knives,leftover lunch,and my new 4.2 gram nugget.I chalked it up to not picking up after myself.Doesn't help the sting of lazy people who think it's better to steal rather than work for there rewards.Sorry for your loss.
 
:sadwalk: I'm so sorry Keith-TX.... When I first got my 705, rather that get that fancy M.L. bag - all new and pretty, I went to the thrift stores for a gear bag. Big, ughly, a bit grubby with light wear spots for my new baby. Cleaned out the inside thoroughly. Only time it is in my 'not quite clean truck' is when I am using it. Theives are not quite so interested in rigs that are not spick and span nor shabby gear bags. Hope you find the buggers and get your stuff back. You know they are out there, but it is such a shock when it happens to you!
 
Sorry to hear about your lose Kieth.
I've been on the wrong end of that myself on a few occassions. Never pleasant. I hope that your ensurance has it covered.

I feel for you if someone stole my Xt70 and WOT it would be like losing my right arm.

Well...a week has gone by and nothing. I am just depressed about this. I have used almost every brand of detector and a few of them Minelabs. The Xterra 70/705 is the most versatile detector of them all. I will have another...just might take awhile. Thanks for all the responses guys. I do hope this never happens to you. Kieth
