tomorrow eve at the local detecting club. Should be fun - I am used to speaking in front of people as I used to teach HS but never before detector people. Should be interesting. I am taking 4 of my displays along to show. Anyone here ever speak at a meeting before ? any advice ? Steve in so az

From the land of the Bluenose...used to go to Toastmasters every Monday night...really an enjoyable time. Did my first 10 speaches and now have my Competant (or however it's spelt..too tired to look it up) Toast Master certification. Might go back to it after the ground freezes next year.
Remeber the 3 p's of public speaking...plan, preparation and practise...you'll do fine.
Up now for 34 hours straight and only 4.5 to go. Got called into work last night for 12 hour, taught 6 today now another 12......bed will be nice...even though Marie will be gone...lol!

I have done talks about detecting in front of kids and adults. Now I speak in front of out club monthly. Have fun! That is the key! By the way, I had a dream last night that you had arrived for the big hunt up here! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> Can't wait!

with your knowlege and experience, it should be a snap!
Have FUN!
Dave

pushing the package with the hours there, better get some rest - thanks for the advice, Steve

no dream ! We leave for Florida in less than 4 weeks - home 1 week and I fly out ! Sure looking forward to it - as I told Greg, never have been in Michigan before. Steve

From the land of the Bluenose...have a great cassette tape (vcr0 that I use in my classes that I could send to you . It's made by Toastmasters and is a good one for planning speaking engagements....just let me know and I could pick it up in Mich later this summer...lol! Hope it went well sir!

are a different breed. We hear what we want to hear. Just kidding! I hope you speak well. If it was me up there, my knees would be knocking and I'd be sweating profusely. They'd have to have buckets just to catch the sweat. You'll do fine, knowing that you were a H.S. teacher at one time. Speaking is not my forte, I clam up in front of people.

I've always had stage fright, even talking from behind the stage. And I really did take a Xanax. I get nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rockin' chairs! <IMG SRC="/metal/html/flag.jpg" BORDER=0 width=32 height=17 ALT="usa~"> <IMG SRC="/metal/html/csflag.gif" BORDER=0 width=22 height=15 ALT="::"> <IMG SRC="/metal/html/ml.gif" BORDER=0 width=30 height=15 ALT="m~">
