Pete in MI

I've somewhat learned to put up with the hernia for over 2 years now since I can't afford to have it repaired. I've pretty much figured the glaucoma was going to get worse before it gets the medicine for it. This morning though I got up to another problem. It is difficult to read even road signs while driving. My bifocals don't seem to be of much use now either. I told SHerry today that my left eye was seeing like someone smeared Vaseline on my left glasses lense. My right eye has been bad for a long time. On the eye chart the right eye is lucky if it reads the E at the very top of the chart.
Sherry said the smeared Vaseline thing is a catarac. She has had one repaired but she too has one that is now nithiung mor than a fog when trying to look through just that one eye.
Reading even this text is difficult blured with a shadow of the dark letters above the typed letters. Good thing I was taught how to type with my eyes closed in the military...it might become a permanent thing. Sherry feels real bad about this. She said she wished that I could see what she sees so I can understand how she sees. She feels it is her fault she said that. I don't blame her. She said she planted ;seed'; so it is her fault. I have to remind her of the parable of the man who went out to the field and found the tares growing with the good crop and he asked did they not plant the good seed and the reply was 'an enemy has done this'. We have but one 'enemy' and it sure isn;t Sherry. She says her heart is breaking for me.
She will soon be losing her job with the pest control company (seasonal) and with me being the 'bread winner' this poses a greater problem if I cannot see to work.
With Sherry's catarac she has not been able to get a new drivers license. If neither of us can drive, so much for a lot of things.
The catarac was never diagnosed just suddenly happened. Brihght lights and reflections are even worse. Having asked the State for help before for the eye I got a response they would help me get disability from the Feds if I went blind. Oh well.
I just opened my Giant print Bible...can read it...with difficulty. Glad I have the Bible on CD. Guess metal detecting isn't going to be a big priority...especially if I can;t see to drive or read the screen
Please pray for Sherry to get her eye fixed and that I too can at least get my left eye fixed. Maybe Pirate Pete will be wearing an eye patch over both eyes
Thanks all.
