Good Morning!

Just wanted to stop by to say hi. I was on a school field trip to Gatlinburg for five days and have been trying to catch up on things here at home since then. The trip to Gatlinburg is taken yearly at the end of April by the Advanced Science Class at my old high school - I also used to teach there - and I've been going on it since I was in the 11th grade! That was a loooong time ago! Been going for about 30 years now, except for last year when Tim's mother was about to pass away. We have such a wonderful time!!! When teaching, I always find a sub at the very first of the year to take care of my classes on the days I will be gone in April. Of course that wasn't an issue this year. It was nice not to have to worry about my classes while I was gone and to not have to prepare days worth of work for them to do while I was on the trip! My husband and I go to Gatlinburg and the Smokies often, but the school trip is always a BLAST!

About to get out and either hit the road or a nearby trail. Got to get back to walking and/or hiking now that I'm caught up on chores. Don't want to get out of shape or have the pounds start adding up - plus I love walking and hiking. Will be sure to say a prayer for my forum family as I'm pickin' them up and puttin' them down (my feet, that is...).

Been thinking of you all and lifting you up in prayer. Even though I've been out of sight for a few days, you certainly have not been out of mind!

Good to have you back posting and hope you don't stay away too long! Trips are really nice and the joy of getting away is wonderful, but oh getting back to the routine is  ! :) God Bless! Betty

Speaking of science and Gatlinburg, hey is that where the Gatlin Gun was created?

(Truth: The original Gatling gun was designed by the American inventor Dr. Richard J. Gatling in 1861 and patented in 1862. The Gatling gun (1861) was one of the most well known rapid-fire weapons to be used in the 1860s by the Union forces of the Civil War.)

Oh, I know, that where the Gatlin Boys were from..you know from the song "The Coward of the County" by Kenny Rogers.

I know its where Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers are from...the ones who play in the Grand Ole Opry, right?

Just kidding.

Gatlinburg has a wonderful history...a place t detect for sure.
