Good News <> Bad News

I guess I'll get tha bad news out of tha way.

My camera is sick.

It won't zoom. It doesn't open all tha way,
and when I try to turn it off, it says "lens
error". Then I have to turn it on and off a
few times to get tha lens ta go backin.

Good News.

Electronics are cheaper. I was able to get
a better camera for less money. Both are
Cannons, so I don't have to learn a new
format.

Here is a photo of my new camera, taken
with my sick camera.

I wanted to try and photograph two items
that I never could get a good pic on with
my old camera.

Not good focus, but that's tha best pic I
got of that pin.

This polished stone is very hard to get a
good pic of.

TD - What happened to the front of your A470?

The A470 looks like there is a dent which may be causing some problems. Ouch. But when they work, they do take decent pics and are simple to use - I know, I have one too. At least they are cheap and do ok for a beat-um-up camera. Still a little bulky in the pocket.

I almost snagged a Canon A2000 that looks very close to your new one. Will be interesting to see the pics you get out of yours.

I nabbed a Lumix TZ5 last week. It's smaller than the A470, but still not a ultra small compact. But anything is smaller than my full size DSLR.

I was trying to get pics of my Earth marble. Any auto focus settings to include macro ain't right trying to get a set in glass. It's all screwy and it screws me up (my eyeballs) trying to focus through a camera. Glass marbles up close where there is depth is just something I ain't figured out yet.

Here is a recent test with the A470 - (I'm not happy at all with with the glass marble shots) - but it's ok other than that. I wonder if that Canon would do it.

I have an A560 and it has been a great camera. Sharing pics on the internet is so easy now, I take more pics now than I ever have.
