....I went to a meeting yesterday that was held for all of us that lost our jobs when our Co. closed last year. Our UAW Local filed for TRA assistance in Washington for us;we got it!!!-THAT MEANS that we are entitled to such things as:unemployment extensions while in school;up to$15,ooo.oo/year in PAID schooling(COLLEGE!!!) for up to THREE YEARS,among other nice things!!!-FIRST,we have to take testing,to determine just what we would be good at,and look into whats available in the form of schooling-Location,duration of study;price,etc....SO I gotta call today, and get an app't for the testing to get the ball rolling on SCHOOLING!!HOPEFULLY,I can get all the red tape done;so's I can start attending classes this fall!!They had a list of hot jobs, one with a title of "COMPUTER SUPPORT SPECIALIST"that sounded appealing to me-SO WE WILL SEE how it pans out!!!.......

I missed the last 2 'briefing' dates...other things going on keeping me from making it there. Let me know how the paperwork shuffle goes - what all they are asking. I almost hate to get the government any more involved in our lives than they already are. Still, have to pay bills. In a few minutes I am going down to apply for a job that wasn't listed locally at MichiganWorks! or other local media sources. Hoping this turns out to be the job God has for me - but it is His choice not mine if I get it. Full time position working in a store that sells batteries. Can tell they need more advertising for the store as they offer batteries I needed at the hotel and for a good price too and could have had them sooner than ordering from the factory.

Wishing you best of what God offers on your training Steve and wishing this job application process goes well.

God bless

Good news, I guess for you, Steve, and for others who're unemployed, but still will be more taxes on the taxpayers to provide the monies for schooling and then employment! But God is good and He will see His Children the worst of times ande provide our needs and protect us from the enemy....even our Liberal Gov't!

And Pete! I am praying for you to get the battery store job and have full time to meet your and Sherry's needs and our blessed Lord will for your good and for His purpose! Keep the faith and keep praying and praising God for He loves to hear the praises of His people! May God's blessings be many, in our blessed Saivor's holy name, Jesus! Amen! Ma Betty

Battery store job hours are cool....no Sundays.

I also applied at Arby's today too. They were so slow I can't see how they stay open.
