GOOD NEWS!....

Several months ago, the girls saw where the National Rifle Association was holding a national wildlife art contest for school aged kids. It was broken down into grade levels: 1-3, 4-6, etc. My three older girls all wanted to enter the contest, and set out doing drawings and paintings of various wildlife animals. Hannah, 16, did a very nice painting of a lynx head. Leanna, 14, did an acrylic painting of 2 wolves in the snow. Sarah, 12, did a pencil drawing of a cougar. The artwork was sent in about a month ago, and today we received a call from the NRA.... Sarah won 3rd place ($100 check) for 7-9th grade. Leanna won third place in her grade category, also $100 check. But unfortunately, Hannah (high school) didn't win, but she's won other art contests. Anyway, got a nice phone call from the NRA congratulating the girls, and informing us that checks are on the way. Thousands of school aged kids entered this contest from all over the country, and to get 2 winners from one family is pretty dang good!
