Good to be out there again

After the last few drought years, I was thinking that hitting the parks around me were going to be a thing of the past.
Not so this year.
The turf has come back strong and plenty of people have been using the parks and fields so far this year. So I dusted of the old F70 and got back out.
Nothing earth shattering yet. A couple pocket dumps and some fun around the soccer fields.
I picked up an fx1 pinpointer awhile back and have been learning how it works with the F70. So far, I like it. Had to tune one of the program settings for it, but just made it more interesting to check out the "bouncy" signals. Lots of trash in these areas, but the fx is helpful in picking through them.

Any way, it's good to be out and about again.

Well welcome back, shadowulf...we F70 guys have been keeping our rigs rolling and and rocking and now we have those Patriot guys added to the mix.

You wouldn't happen to have some good settings for "clad stabbing"?
A couple of these parks are wide open, and even with the 10x7, they are a lot of ground to cover.
Using the "punch through" setting for the fx1. Sniffs the ground like a bloodhound in that mode.

Everything will work, my favorite settings for quick grooming parks is 4H tones, sense from 60 to 85, thresh in the negative numbers to make the high tones sound good, disc wherever you want but no higher than the low 20's.

Also for silver high tone sniping I have used 65 disc, notched in nickels, 1 monotone, this high disc seems to quiet it down a lot so I push the sense and thresh up high and that high thresh seems to help unmask things well.

But I have found deep coins without pushing the sense and thresh, too.


Also I have played around a lot with DP...that also worked out well.

In heavy trash or iron, or in my difficult soil I use monotone a lot unless I am in DP, but not always.
That is because of my dirt and EMI at some sites, in great Kansas dirt multi tones worked great also,

Like i said everything works if you are looking for shallow clad, coins and jewelry, whatever is the most fun for you.
For really deep or masked targets a little more outside the box thinking is helpful.

Thats why I like having the mono setting on one of the programs. Things get sketchy, on goes program 2.
I'll play with the threshold numbers. We have a lot of iron in the fill dirt here. And when it gets wet, we'll, it's challenging. The big coil likes to squawk and ping on everything.
