Goodbye ole friend, Hello new

Saturday I traded my AT Pro for a Explorer SE Pro. I had been quite successful with the AT Pro and found many great finds with it. I had wanted to try a Minelab since the day I started detecting. When the opportunity came up I jumped on it. Thanks to the weather I've only had a half an hour swing time. I hit the 10' x 20' curbstrip in front of house. I dug about 10 targets all were junk but one memorial penny. I couldn't even tell you how many times I've hit this before so digging anything impressed me. I have Andy's book and am starting to reread it, even with a short swing time it is making more sense also I skipped some parts that I thought wasn't relative to the Explorer(big mistake). I like learning the machines, for me it's half the fun, so this one should be a blast.

I also have an Explorer SE Pro, they really are a top notch machine. It will reward you with some of the fringe targets missed by others and yourself, but you must slow down with the sweep speed and keep it tight to the ground as you probably know.
I like to pick through old "beat to death" parks for the challenge, your SE Pro will punch on down there depthwise too. Good Luck with it!!

Thanks. The only plus side to snow is it gives me plenty of time to read and study up. I am sure it truly click until I'm out swingin'.

I've had mine three or four years and really like it.. It has put a lot of silver etc.. in my pouch from hunted out sites.

Good luck with your new Explorer . . . . glad the book is providing you with a reference tool

Keep us updated on your finds

Andy
