GOODNESS EXPRESSED

While it cannot be said that we are saved by works, it can be said that, as blood-bought sons and daughters of God, we are saved in order that our lives might manifest good works. Jesus pointed out that as a tree is known by its fruit, we will be known by the kind of lives we live. Jesus carries the importance of good works a step further when He declares that those whose lives lack in good works will not be allowed to enter the kingdom of heaven (see Matt. 25:41

When we bless others and don't expect anything in return (like anyone who is unable to give anything except to say, Thank you, for what we've done) will be blessed of God many times over! And when we give unselfishly and help others, we do have a good feeling within us, because that is God's Spirit moving to bless our souls! We aren't saved by good works, which sinners can also do, but after we are saved in the forgiving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, then we are to do good works and be a Living branch on God's Family tree ((Jesus is the Living Vine to Whom we cling)) bearing good fruit for the Kingdom of God! Thanks Martin.....a very good post! May God Bless! Amen! Betty
