Gorgeous Crotal Bell...

Erik in NJ

New member
Little smaller than a ping-pong ball and very heavy. It appears it was gilted at one time. Still has a nice sound when rung. After I scanned the bell I saw the number 23 cast into it. Must be brass, is my guess. Any leads on age, manufacturer? Thanks!

Nice bell! I've found several, I tumbled them for a bit to clean em up, put a couple in my coat pockets at christmas when out shopping, they sound great! Guessing when I date them around 1890-1910.
