Got a BIG haircut at a new ballfield

I hunted a 25' x 50' spot in a large sports field, everything looks newer, thought I'd try for a gold ring. I ended up reverting back to my old habit of hunting the "squeaks". Really, really trashy here and lots of iron. I dug a Franklin half out of this spot last week and thought I'd give it another try. A couple wheats right away, then the large silver hit the first 20 minutes in. She came out black. So did a barb dime and merc. Ended up with 7 silvers and ring in 3 hours in this little spot. Probably the only place there was no fill.
Good luck all, amc

Looks like you made the right choice by reverting back to your old habits. Congratulations on the nice finds! Thanks for the pictures and story.

Wow, that's an AWESOME hunt, amc!!

Just imagine if the whole field had no fill!! I still think that place requires multiple trips back....I'd be going back with finds like that for only 3 hours......even if you think there's fill in other areas...you just never know.

Major Congrats,
