Got a few Buffs

Hit a spot at lunch time yesterday with the 10 X 14 E coil and started hammering out some pretty deep Buffs and a few other goodies.
A 1917 Walking Liberty half, a 1917 Philippine's War Token ( probably lost from the same pocket ) and a percushion cap.
All of this stuff was in the 6 - 10" depth range. The percushion cap was 7" deep and is fully intact, looks like it was lost yesterday, hardly ever find them that deep.
Will be hitting this site HARD again :)
Sorry about the blurred pic, bad lighting I guess.

Good Hunting
Mike

Wow, did the nickels come out that clean? Mine Buffalos are always turd brown or red.

Great finds! I still need to find my first Walking Liberty.

Greetings Mike,
Nice finds! I have found only one walking lib so far. As for the Buffs,
Great finds. I have found some blackened before, and a few clean like yours. It is a nice addition to your trappings! Happy Hunting Grounds,

Savage (EX-II)

a dried out section that was once a boat landing. The soil is more river basin clay than dirt and slippery as all get out when wet :)

Ahhh.. the clay. I've dug out some strangely clean coins from clay.. kinda forgot about that. Again.. awesome finds!!

Very nice shape, here in AZ the nickles come out of the ground looking very brown to red. Nasty mineralized soil here really tears them up.
