I was working at a job site today and there is an old timer that lives near by in a trailer. He knows I collect coins and while he was out walking around the job site today, he found a coin laying in the dirt. He came in and said he had found a Gold piece but I know he was only kidding around with me since I seen it was black looking and knew it wasn't one. He handed it to me and it turned out to be a Buffalo Nickel. I looked at it and told him what it was and that the date was worn off. I went to give it back to him and he told me to keep it since he didn't have any use for it. Well, when I got home I went and cleaned it up a bit and had to use the Nic-A-Date Acid on it. I seen that the reverse had an S mintmark on it so I knew it was going to be a decent coin since the S mintmark is a good one on most all the Buffalo Nickels. I looked at my price book and looked at the possibilities of what it might be for the year. I noticed the 1921-S was worth $70.00 in Good shape and said to myself, it can't be that one. Well, guess what, I was wrong. I removed the acid from the Nickel and there in front of me was the year 1921. I couldn't believe it. Not bad for a Freebie coin! I am going to show it to the old timer tomorrow and tell that it was a good one but too bad it wasn't in better shape and thanks for a key date coin. I think I might just have to detect this site a bit since it is a storage unit building there now and there is quite a bit of grass area to detect in. Maybe I will get lucky! Will keep you all poated. Pics are below.[attachment 29481 BuffaloBefore.jpg][attachment 29482 BuffaloAfter.jpg][attachment 29483 BuffaloReverse.jpg]
