Kind of ironic! As I was heading to the trash pit this morning, I heard a horn honk and glanced over and noted it was a red pickup. It didn't register that it was a fellow club member and hunting companion on occasion. About a mile or so down the road my cell rings and it is Terry, the fellow in the red truck. He said something to the effect, "off hunting eh?" I said, "yep, gonna dig a half this morning." Little did I know that I would. I went to an area of on this spot I hadn't hunted for a while deciding I would sniff through all the bottle caps tabs and other trash around a big parking lot with the LTD and small 5" coil. After about an hour and a half I hadn't found much but a couple of wheat cents when I got a nice high tone intermingled with mid tones. I had a tough time pin pointing the high tone, so just started digging. The first photo shows everything that came out of the hole before I finally found the 43 Walker half down about 7" off to the side of the hole and totally on edge. It has what appears to be a fresh rough spot on one edge and I may have nicked it with my digger. Shortly there after I dug a couple more wheat cents, the 43P war nickel and the 57D Rosie. The Walker is the 8th half this site has yielded me since 2006. The war nickel was 5" and bouncing from 27-33. The silver dime was all of 7", so the small coil does get nice depth. De Mode, disc. 4, 85 sen, and 3H tones. HH jim tn

You are the man, no doubt!! Great job, although when I saw you this morning, you must have slept in and running late, after all it was 6:30 AM. I was on my way to make a delivery to a customer and then on to work, you were on your way to play!! Someday I will be retired........someday.

Nice silvers
It had to excite you.

Thanks, guys, I should have said it came out of the hole with the trash in the 2nd photo, not the 1st. The LTD is good, but if I don't make the correction, Fisher will quickly be running out of LTD's. LOL HH jim tn

Jim that's just fantastic! People didn't lose too many half dollars back then.
