Got a good'un today....

I got out for few hours today to search for some coins, and stopped at a small fresh water beach for a quick search around before moving on to the next site.
I hit this ring after about 20 minutes into the hunt and it made my day.. 14 karat white gold, 8.9 grams, size 9.
I did find a few coins later on, but nothing old and it sure was muddy digging after the recent rain, snow, sleet mixture we got a couple of days ago.
The ring VID'd at a solid 15 on my X-Terra 50 with the 10.5" DD med. freq coil.

WOW that baby is a beauty! That x-terra certainly has paid for itself (probably several times over) That gold has given me the fever to get out!! However, I have about 5 inches of ice on ground lol At least someone can get out and do a little hunting. Thanks for sharing. Nice ring and it's gold, Congrat's.

That's something I have noticed with those gold bands,, they tend to lock on a solid number, not like gold rings that have a stone. The numbers tend to jump a round some.

I've notced it too, and I believe that it has to do with the irregular shape of the setting. A plain band is more "coin-like", so it gives a more consistant indication.
