Got a nice 1265

Digging Fool

New member
It is clean! Got the machine with 2 coils(11" and 8"), 2 shafts Nice Fisher headphones, new batteries, and the owner's manual. I have read on here that some prefer the stock 8" coil, but others prefer the 11". I have the 11 on it. Shouldn't that one be deeper for relics? It's a spider coil.

DOES IT HAVE A HOT COIL WITH IT.SOUNDS LIKE MIND:shrug:
I didn't get a Hothead coil with it. I had a Hothead for a White's many years ago, and didn't see much of a difference in performance. I just have the 11" spider coil and the stock 8" coil for the 1265.

Thats all you need, but the 5" works awesome on the 1265............Been using it for over 25 years or more got it in the early 80's and still finding stuff with it.

Thanks, Shooter. I reckon I'll use the 11" coil first, but I have read on here that the white 8" stock coil is preferred by many. I think it may be lighter to swing. If the old white coil is even close in depth, that may be the way to go. I have a few health issues, but I'm still diggin'.

Your right, I find the White stock coil is better, except for the water, the spider coil is open and has know air in it so it stays under the water without having to push it down it stay on the bottom, and the 1256 gets awesome depth in the water (use it at fresh water beaches and rivers).
