My buddy and I got together for a woods hunt today. We both brought along our GTI's using the sniper coils. It's getting colder, but still no snow. The small creeks and rivers are now pretty well frozen over. Still......you can remove targets in the woods as the dirt is very dry.

I found a lot of glue tubes today. Sniffing glue out of a paper bag was quite common for teenagers some years back. Today they smoke weed or crack. Anyhow, I managed to dig up some loot and some interesting targets.

This is about my 5th Bayer Aspirin tin that I have dug up. This one was filled with black dirt, buried at about 4 inches. I saw one ad on EBay where an empty tin in great shape (no pills) was starting at $6.50.

It's aways nice to get a silver coin. They are really getting scarce. That old shotgun shell was made in England by the ELEY company, which started manufacturing ammunition at about 1824.

And I dug up an old brass pad lock. It's the smallest one I have ever dug. There are no stamps to help ID it as to who made it or when. It's a great addition to my collection.

Silver and clad makes for a good outing:clapping:

... yecccch! That's horrid. Many of the kids I knew did that back in the day. I'm glad I stuck to smokin' weed :stars:
Even the junk you find up there is pretty cool!

Yeah I could never understand "huffing". Some of the stuff kids suck into their lungs is pure death. We have a friend whose son was a paint sniffer and it finally took his life. He was even on one of the TV cop shows getting arrested for huffing paint and he was higher than a kite.

When I was a kid dope was easy to get and pot grew wild in the vacant lots in town but nobody wanted any of it. Then there was always jimsonweed or locoweed which could kill your happy ass. We got high on life. Up into the seventies one could still buy codeine over the counter until the drug company crooks bitched and got it taken off the shelves so they could run it as a prescription only drug and charge a ton for it. Course in the good old days Coca Cola had cocaine in it as it was originally concocted by a pharmacist as a medicinal drink as were many of the soft drinks..

...being from S. California originally, smoking cannabis comes naturally to me. I haven't burned any rope now for decades, but if I had my way, it would be legalized, and sit on the shelf next to alcohol. It would carry a tax stamp and pay a profit.

I never could get into other drugs, though. Many people I knew did it all, some few to their detriment.
We suffer now with the results, as guess where our so called leaders formed their ideas... you guessed - halcyon "Counterculture Days."

In the end, I wish the whole drug scene/counterculture crap had never happened. Our elders should have whacked our peepee's hard back then, for being spoiled upstarts.

Yeah I lived and worked in Southern California for some years but never got into the drug scene. Popped a few bennies and dexies here and there but that was about it. When I was a kid they used to sell an inhaler ( for stuffy noses ) that had a cotton-like insert soaked in benzidrine. WE used to buy them, take them apart, remove the insert, drop the insert into a coke and get a cheap buzz.

In my youth there was a thing known as parental discipline and if we had been caught even thinking about dope we would have woke up in the next county. Back then teachers and principles in school had the right to whack your fanny when you got out of line. Then when you got home you got another arse whacking for getting whacked at school.

Kids committ a crime these days and they get slapped on the wrist and sent home to momma who does absolutely nothing discipline wise. In my day if you committed a crime you went to Reform School and done time. If they brought those back we wouldn't have all the crime today committed by youngsters - because there would be a penalty to pay. If you commited a murder back then you were sentenced to fry in the electric chair and a date was set for that execution and you were snuffed on that day. Nowadays murderers get two or three life sentences ( terminally stupid ) or they sit on death row for the rest of their lives watching TV.
