Got Another F75

I have been an F75 fan for some time now, but sold my last one about a year ago after I got to Reno, NV and found out it did not play well with EMI (electro magnetic interference) around here. I just got another one and was pleased to find it handles the EMI better than my old one did, and was even more pleased when it popped a silver dime out of the tough soil (FE 1) here on my second outing.

I have mainly hunted gold with the F75 in the past ( http://www.fisherlab.com/hobby/finds-Steve-Herschbach.htm ) but I am thinking more along the lines of ghost towns and old cabin sites now. I guess I always knew I would get another F75 because I kept all my extra coils from my last one!

are you talking about the f75se are the older f75 my f75se black model handles emi better than the t2se and the f70 i used to own, looking forward to see if the upgrade there releasing for the f75se is going to help more with emi and the chatter hh

Shoot Steve the black and gold is all you need. Very capable detector with superior depth..

I also read over on a Whites Forum your giving another Machine a retry..Good luck with both Steve...

When did you move South ???

Hi Elton,

I moved from Alaska to Reno a year ago, and I am sure happy I did. I loved Alaska, but now that I am older warmer climes are more appealing. Main thing is I can now detect year round!

I am on a major detector test fest right now, with a new Nokta Fors Gold in hand and XP Deus on the way along with the V3i. Everything is going to get tossed in the mix and come December I will probably have quite a few detectors for sale once I sort out what suits me best.

Hope life is treating you well - happy hunting!

So Steve: Do you think that Fisher fixed the EMI issue with the machine or did you just luck out and happen to find a specmin that's not as EMI-susceptible as most of the other F75's have proven to be?

Glad to hear your enjoying a warmer climate.and looking forward to reading your test results, and the detectors you keep.

I too am getting tired of this Northern weather............. One of these days I may do something about that...

Steve: Are you thinking about having the F75 you just got upgrade when Fisher institutes its upgrade program?

The F75 I have is a prototype version of the newer units. The EMI improvement alone would make an upgrade worthwhile. I plan on doing an in depth report later in the week.

really looking forward to your report Steve and appreciate your efforts disseminating this kind of information....I hope that some 'trashy park' testing will be included....

.......how does it compare to every high end detector ever made in your arsenal?:surprised:

Most of them are apples and oranges, though I am going to cull the herd pretty hard this winter, as I have quite a few redundant units right now. I do not rely on reviews from others for my particular needs so pretty much have to just get them and let it sort out on its own. Sheer performance is not everything as most units are competitive, so it often boils down to how the unit sounds to my ear and how it feels on my arm. I hunt 6-8 hours a day for days on end so that kind of stuff really matters to me.

Keep us posted Steve..For those that do not know. Steve is a premier detectorist with vast knowledge he always shares..

as the likes of Monte or Mike Hillis or Keith Southern or many others. I am good at what I do, which is mainly gold prospectimg, but much of it has more to do with location and hard work than any detector wizardry. But thanks for the kudos.
