Got hired today........

I did not get a job that I was trained for but at least it is a job. You all know I graduated recently to be a surgical technician, and there just is no jobs in my area where they will give me a chance, they all say I have no experience. Well my unemployment ran out over 3 weeks ago and my checkbook is pretty empty to say the least, and I like to eat so I was willing to take anything..........literally.

well today I got hired to work in the dept at the hospital where they sterilize surgical instruments. It is a 40 minute drive from home each way, and I won't be able to afford insurance because of the low pay, BUT I am glad I got something, because a small paycheck is way better than NO paycheck :clapping:

hoping something better comes along but at least my family won't starve now

that employers will be impressed when you tell them you have a job but are looking for one in your specialized field. Glad you have a step forward now. steve in so az

"and I like to eat" Me too.

Good for you and maybe you can move up. Get next to a surgen and strike up a convorsation, see if one of the docs can help you move up.

Glad to hear it.
Jeff

congrats!!!!!!! can you do volunteer work at a va hospital or anywhere to get the experiance?

An answer to prayer, Terry. God has a plan. At least you are in the hospital atmosphere, and if it is Gods' will for you to have another job it will be.

well they don't let volunteers in the operating room. Closest VA hospital to me is even further than this place. But it's ok, I am going to stay positive and just see what the future holds.

The Lord opens doors and who is to say where they may lead. We all have our own plans, and we should, and the Lord uses them to guide us in ways we do not anticipate. It will be exciting to see where this open door ultimately leads. Just keep praying and moving forwards trusting Him.

Congrats, Terry, for your getting a job, although not the one you went to school for and expected, but it is a stepping stone and will look good on resumes that you are employed! Since it is in a hospital atmosphere, there will be an open door someway, somehow for a better opportunity for more money and who knows how God will lead you to the one you want for your career! Just don't give up and keep the faith that God is watching over you and your family and He will provide! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

That is a foot in the door. You will move up the ladder in no time! Congrats!

Brother Terry, You will be in my thoughts and prayers for success and happiness. May God bless you & your family with your every need, as well as your hearts desire according to His will for your life.

Oh I forgot,

Thank you God

Great to hear. Good for you and your family.Maybe one of those Docs has a little place in the country with an old farmhouse from the turn of the century ......

Good luck God Bless.......Just conversation with others on your training may open a door that God slings wide open.......Dan

GOD always does provide, doesn't he? Not always as we had hoped for, but always enough. I'm glad you got something that will hold you over until the right job comes along!!!!

Terry, you're gonna get that surg tech job soon, just keep plugging away, you may have to drive a ways or go to a small facility, but after you get some experience you'll be able to work any where. Craig
