Started a new old yard. Got 8 wheats, a 1901 Indian with full Liberty, an 1896 "V" nickel, and my favorite find of the day is the 1943 Kalamazoo dog tag. Also got several doo-dads. Got more yard to hunt there too. Must be a Barber dime there somwewhere!

Nice finds, Mike, and ya never know there could be silver of some kind or another hiding and you most likely will find it! I'll say Silver Quarter for sure! Well maybe ya will! Congrats on the coins and doo-dads! I like that silvery looking metal button with the stars and the dog tag, too! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Nice finds. I found a silver button almost just like the one you found with stars a few years ago.

enjoyed your pics. I am new to sight. i have ordered me a metal detector and I am excited about getting started. I live in Missouri and wanted to know if anyone knows of any good places to start?

Welcome again latybird! What type of detector did you order and are thinking about using? You will need to practice and learn your detector and the more you use it the better you will be with it! I used to detect but am too ill now with arthritis and COPD which makes it hard for me to breathe and move easily! I used a White's Spectrum XLT when I was going detecting and really had fun and enjoyed being outdoors but all things do come to an end sometime! I may try detecting again this Spring but probably won't be able to do so! Hope you like your detector and do really well with it! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

I will do some checking and get back with ya.

Nice finds Mike! I need to get back up there for another hunt with you sometime. I found a button very similar to the one you found with the train on it. Is it from overalls maybe? I found mine hunting a large farm for relics out in the middle of a pasture on 9-11.

they are from overalls. Some have said from train workers?
