Got my book on Quattro today

Got Andy's book today, and have got about half way through it. I think the Quattro will be a good deep detector. All the detectors i have used had 100vdi"s and this Quattro has 40, that is going to take some time to master. If anyone has any good setting or info on it, please let me konw. I am going to put away my other detectors and use the Quattro the rest of this year and see if i can learn it. Help will be needed, thanks flintstone.

Good to hear you got the book so you can read it and see what you think. I had one of the first ones out and tied another with the same problems, it a little different detector and herd the later ones didnt have this problem. What I found and talk to others it seem like when detecting with it I had seen a false reading and before the threshold came back any item it seen would give a good signal. So what I did was when I got a good signal I would lift the coil up and let the threshold come back and go over that spot again and now it showed correct ID. Before that I kept digging iron and trash. I will say it did have some great depth once I rechecked every signal by lifting the coil up until I got the threshold back, if it didnt come back then every thing it seen was good. At the one site which was old I had my friend with the Explorer try those signals I was getting and he said one he got nothing on, but the Quattro gave a weak one and by working it before it reset the threshold I dug a deep seated dime I know was over 12 inches deep.
I got another Quattro back a couple of years ago I found used one as it was like new and and not used as no wear on the coil and had a new SunRay probe on it and never got a chance to use it, but hope I can soon. I had it for 2 years and just sits as my body is not doing that great anymore as I had a heart attack then they put in 4 stents, then had another heart attack and they did a quadruple bypass, then when I started getting better I had to do replace both my knees at one time so I been out of commission . Did try once last year, but hard to put any pressure on my knees and almost impossible to get back up again. After 15 or 20 minutes my oldest grandson had to come out and pick me up. Now I just get to read about all the great stuff and help out others.
Had some great times with a few and lot of great memories and have shop full of great memories of the past. I also have a nice collection of new and used detector I should sell as I had hope I was going to get out again, maybe I will yet as I dont want to give up this great hobby and the friends I met while detecting.
