Got my new Alpha

DiggerDug

Got my new Alpha 2000 detector tonight. Now I normaly use another brand but I wanted a simple to use coin shooter. I don't need all metal so the Delta was off my list. Most people and dealers suggested the Fisher F2 but I had one and found it to be very unstable in my red clay. I think it's a good detector for the money just not my cup of tea. I did some research and decided to look at the Alpha, problem was no dealers carried them. But my good friend Ken_in_ Ga let me try his and wow, I was impressed. Very stable at max sensitivity and very light. So I tried to order one through several dealers and no one carried them. What the heck? I know the earlier models had EMI problems but Teknetics figured out it was the coil cable. They used heavier cable and now this machine is a monster, to quote a friend. Anyways I air tested it in my house and had the sensitivity up 5/5 and not a chirp or sputter. Very smooth and deep too. 10" on a quarter. Deeper than the F2 with the stock 8" coil. So I am off tomorrow to test it out. I will let you know how it does good and bad.

There are a few that have the Alpha and all I can say is I like it alot.
