Got off the tot lot/clad kick this morning and

Well-known member
got 4 wheats, 1 no date buffalo nickel and a 46d Rosie....+ a few pre 82 Memorial cents and 40 cents in clad. The Rosie was 7- 8" deep in damp goround, but even with the small elliptical coil it sounded pretty good from all directions. Hope everyone that hunted found some goodies over the weekend. I got out but only found clad.......the worst part was I was only digging 6" deep signals and deeper..
Some of the 60 and 70 memorials, and late 60's clad has really gotten down in the ground this year.
We didn't get the frost heave as normal either this past spring...

Thanks El, right you are about some of the clad. It just depends on the site. One that I hunt quite a bit apparently had some leveling done when the houses were torn down as I can dig deep clad and find silver and wheats occasionally only 2 or 3" deep. So, it pays to even check those shallow signals. Ghal you were able to get out...your days are probably numbered.:veryangry: HH jim tn

Predicting snow, and mixed showers starting tomorrow.

I use to brave the cold, but not anymore. I don't find it fun with cold hands, cold feet, and punching through Ice and frozen ground.

I know, and sorry to hear that for you. You do know, though, you are welcome to come down to my neck of the woods any time. Our ground may freeze a half inch or so over night once in a while, but that's still diggable and does thaw quickly. I am pretty sure there are a couple of silvers and some 3 ringers still in the ground around here, so bring it on. HH jim tn
