Got out for a bit on Sunday. Hope to do better next weekend.

I have been busy with my Vehicle again and haven't been getting out like I have wanted to. For some reason, the Alignment on my Alternator Belt is off a bit and tends to make the Belt start to squeal a bit. Tried just about everything too but I think I have fixed it good enough to have a very limited squeal so back to detecting again. I was going to go out on Saturday but when I seen it was to be 100 Degrees out, I figured I could wait another day. Finally got out for a short time on Sunday and went to a School that has an older Football Field that I have pulled some Silver from before along with a few Jewelery Items as well. Got out of my Van and started Detecting and about 6' into the hunt got a loud 28-30 on my Digital Screen. When I get these signals and readings, I know it is Silver. Started digging and out pops a Sterling Ring. Shortly after this I get a Wheat Penny signal and dig and out pops a 925 Silver Ring that need to be straightened out a bit. I thought it was going to be a good day, and it was, but the Silver Coins just wouldn't pass under my Coil. I was even patterning my search and found out someone else must have been Silver Snipping since I found 12 Nickels along with a bunch of Clad Coinage. This is the most Nickels I have dug in one outing. Even though I didn't get much for Silver, it payed off just to stop by this spot and see what was left. Now I know. Here is what I found yesterday. I only found 1 Silver and it was a 1959-d Roosevelt Dime. I hope to get some Barber next weekend if all goes well. I found 2 Older Nickels which were both Jefferson Nickels dated 1941 and 1947. I also found 1 Older Canadian Penny dated 1950. For Wheat Pennies, I found 12 more dated 1926,1929-s,1930-d,(3)1940,(3)1944-d,1946-d,1946-s, and 1950-d. I also found another 1959-d Lincoln Memorial Penny. Along with the Silver Rings I found a Bracelet that has different items on it like a Heart,Bullet, etc. That does it for this time so Good Luck and HH to you all.[attachment 62243 Silver.jpg][attachment 62246 Nickels.jpg][attachment 62251 Pennies.jpg][attachment 62252 Bracelet.jpg][attachment 62253 SilverRings.jpg]

I should start finding some more myself. When it's this hot though I just hate diggin' pulltab after pulltab.
Careful in the heat...it got me down Saturday!

How many pennies have you dug that look like they have been in acid.I went to a old school and dug 4 or 5 like that so I quiet digging shallow pennys but mannage to find 2 IH and some old tokens.Good luck on your next hunt.

It really depends on the ground conditions. If the ground is wet for long periods of time, or there is a high amount of Alkali or Fertilizers in the ground, then the Pennies along with the Nickels will be pitted and look like they were in an Acid Bath. I really don't like passing Coins up unless I am with another hunter and I know that they are only going for the Deeper Older Coins, then I will pass up the shallower targets. Thanks for the response Crow-Duck and Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt as well.:detecting:

I know what your talking about with digging numerous Pulltabs. I was hoping to find a nice Gold Ring but maybe next time. Good Luck with your Nickel Search and HH.:detecting:

I am sure you are right about the Charms on the Bracelet. It was a neat find to see coming out of the dirt. Thanks again and Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

I am happy to see that you have learned the Explorer well since you had the Soveriegn first. The hunt you had was kind of a shocker and I was really happy that you found a great spot to detect since they are getting tougher and tougher to find. Hope your Luck continues buddy and HH to you on your next outings.
