Got out for a couple of hunts over the weekend. Saturday I managed to squeeze out a lone Mercury dime. Sunday, I went to a new spot with the 17" coil and dug some deep silver. As soon as I got there, I dug a wheat penny at 10", so I figured that there had to be some deep silver that was passed up over the years. A few minutes later I got a hit that was just a "thunk" from both ways. It wouldn't even give a tone, but the conductive numbers came up as a 47-49. Dug waaayy down there and got a silver spill with a SLQ and a Walker!!! That is my first half dollar. You can see the green crud from where there were sitting on top of each other for a number of years. Rounded out the day with a 9" Rosie.
