I don't do much lake detecting....machine not water-proofed, but I welcome the calmness of a lake..easier to hunt in than the ocean.

The person in the final pic had brought his lounge chair out at low tide and just sat there reading the newspaper and enjoying the serenity of it all as I detected near him.

When the tide started coming in, I finished up, heading towards the shoreline while watching this person who seemed oblivious to it all. I packed it in and went home..hope he got home OK

Here's some pics..

Additional pics in following post

thanks for looking

Found an old postcard with a pic of exactly where I was yesterday.....took a photo for comparison.

No...the crowds go west of this area...to more popular public beaches with more convenient parking /concessions stands/ Lifeguards

Presently there are expensive private homes ..estates in this area high above the beach, and it is mostly these folks who use this area.

But in its "heyday", it was very popular for summer vacationers.

There is an old hotel at the end of that street which still stands, but has been renovated somewhat.; but it still has the "gingerbread" style on the porch posts. Eddie told me the former name of the hotel and the name of the Property Management just in case I may want to request permission to detect the grounds..I would love to do that...we'll see.

Also met an elderly couple there...started a conversation with them; the wife told me her sister had worked as a waitress at this hotel. I love talking with elderly people in that area......very interesting.

I was thinking the same thing, Craig...also around the corner along the street ...where that old hotel still stands.

I park right there..it would be so convenient...next time, maybe.
