Got out to my local park this evening for a short hunt

They had done some water line repairs and the Barber was only 1" deep.I almost used my screw driver on it but just dug it out of the wet dirt with my finger.Just at dark I got a deep 12-34 hit and thought another Indian. When I opened the plug and stuck my probe in I got a high silver hit.The nails in the hole were causing the low ID I suspect. The gold plated band was about 9" and sounded a lot like a deep silver quarter and read 12-47 .The Indian is a 1881 the same year as the park was built.

Thanks for sharing the story and the pictures with us Ray! Congratulations on the finds too!
