Got out today with Michelob Mike and Gopher Mike

The weather was perfect for hunting today and luckily Michelob Mike, Gopher Mike & myself were able to meet up. The wheaties were plentiful but I did manage a '23 Merc and a 1920-d Standing Liberty quarter. This is only my third SLQ and the first that had a date on it so I was very pleased. We probably did more talking than we should have considering our time constraints but being able to hunt with buddies and learn from each other is what it's all about for me. Here's the quarter.

HH all,

Those start out at $50 in G-4. Standing Liberty Quarters sure are a hard coin to find with a legible date still intact. Sounds like you all had a fun day detecting also. Keep them finds comin' Crispytoo! Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt.:detecting:

Congrats on the beautiful SLQ Joel. I'm glad you are having fun hunting with my favorite detecting buddy. Michelob speaks highly of you.

I feel the exact same way. Nice find by the way.

Thanks James, it was a pleasant surprise and Standing Liberties are one of the more beautiful of the US coins. They just have that "antiquated" look about them. Having it be worth a little money doesn't hurt either! :)

That's good to hear Dr. Bob. Mike's a nice guy and we seem to see things the same way. Next time you wander up here I'd like to join you guys in one of your hunts if you don't mind a wisecracking hunter stealing your silver! :smoke:

Thanks Bryce. It seems I've hooked up with a couple great people to hunt with and it makes all the difference.
