Got robbed today. And its all gone.

Bob, I can't even begin to express to you my real sorrow. Man, that has gotta hurt major! I am just so sorry. Hopefully they find the skumbags and get your coins back.

Bob,

You were most likely the victim of some young guys or drug addicts. They will sell the coins to a local dealer or simply cash them in at any store for cigs or similar items. I would make a flier that list the stolen coins and turn it into your local coin dealers and pawn shops. I hope this helps. Was Law Enforcement able to get any physical evidence? ie fingerprints. And if they took anything they can pawn you really want to watch the pawn shops, due to the fact that not all pawn shops are on Leadsonline.com. I wish you the best of luck with your horrible situation.

Aweful news...I'm sorry. I know that 'finds' are meaningful - if nothing else, they bring back good memories. And of course they have intrinsic value, too. Break-ins are a real violation. Dave G. / CT

That's just awful. I'm really sorry to hear it. I know it doesn't happen often, but I hope you get your stuff back.

I had my coin collection stolen a number of years back. I had collected from a kid. Mostly silver, all old and today very valuable. I cried my eyes out. No way to replace those days. Even Beeping I'll never get caught up. I'm so sorry for your loss. Let us know what we can do to help.

What a rotten stinking bummer. Any clues at all? They must have had you pegged and cased, knew what you had, and where, and took only what they wanted - stuff easy to fence.

Had my house broken into 12 years ago wile I was at work. Stole my $4000 coin collection I had in a box. Some of the coins and proof sets were give to me by my father when I was a kid. "Sucks" Sorry to hear about your loss.

I have been investigating burglaries for a looongg time. about 95 percent of them are done by someone who has been in the house or someone is a friend of someone who has been in there. As you said, repairmen, et. Also about 60 to 70 percent of the time it is your own friend :veryangry: or most likely a friend of a spouse or child. The laptop was taken for only one reason. TO TRADE FOR DRUGS! They are a hot item and can be traded straight for a rock of crack. Convicted felons will stay away from guns sometimes. I would look at people you know or your friends and family know that have a history of drug problems and a criminal history and possibly have recently "fell of the wagon" and or/ lost their employment. Could be, remote possiblity, that you were hit by a professional group. You will know because others in your area will be hit around the same time frame. GOOD LUCK!

One cannot be too careful these days, could be a friend of someone who has been in the house. I don't let just anyone come into my house, they better have a good reference or at least well known to be an upstanding citizen,I still remember well the days when nobody locked anything and had no fear of harm or being ripped off....

i know the feeling i lost 20 years of Jewellery including our wedding rings.Sorry to hear your bad luck.

Hang in there Bob. I had the same thing happen last November. Fortunately they caught. All my finds were returned, including my treasure chest I keep them in.
