When I was at the Civil War days I was able to get permission to search an old yard from one of the CW doctors. :) The ground is already very dry. I did manage a 1941 merc, 4 wheats 47, 44, 41, 16, also 2 old canadian pennies, 1940 and 41. I also got a welcome find, a 1916 dog tag. I have several old ones now, and I like them. I also got this big whatzit? You can see it is old and ornate, and quite big too! It is solid copper! 1 5/8" wide by 5 1/2 dia.
Looks like it is time to get in the water till we get some rain!

That ornate item must be either a bracelet..or a napkin holder??? Not sure...but what else could it be? It's very pretty.

The ring is much bigger than that! It covers almost my whole hand!

Nice finds me son and I think the copper thing is an ornamental part to an antigue chandalier!

Nice finds mike. I was also thinking when I first saw your copper piece that it came from an old lamp. The part that held the globe over the wick. I could be wrong though. Your silver is a lot nicer looking than mine!!! Had to come out of the ground.

It would have had to been one huge lamp! 5 1/2" dia.

But it is rather big! Never seen a glass globe 5 1/2" dia.

But the ring is pretty large. 5 1/2" dia. Never seen a glass globe that big at the base. ???
