Got some great finds on Tuesday Night!:super:

Hey, It was many years ago that I tried it on a Standing Liberty Quarter that I had and the date came up after a bunch of tries. It's a heart breaker for me even after almost twenty years. The Standing Lib was the key 1918 S 8 over 7 and was my only key date coin. STOLEN along with all my silver a new Gibson V guitar and all my drummers Paiste Cymbals. Some scum new I detected and broke in. But to get back to your question. The silver date restorer was from the same company that makes the nickel date restorer and was in the same type bottle. So whoever sells the nic a date restorer should have that one. It may be discontinued due to the fact that it was pretty toxic. (now that I think about it). Was a clear liquid and was nitric acid, I believe. Maybe someone with some chemical background can let us know if nitric will etch silver and where to buy it diluted (probably about 1 - 3 %?). That's all I can give you. If anyone finds the supplier to both, let us know. It's been a while since I brought up dates on Buffalo's. HH

I'll keep that Acid in Mind and do a little research to see if that was the Acid used for Silver. Sorry to hear about your finds and your other possessions being ripped off. That Sucks! Hopefully you have gotten wiser and gotten a Safe and maybe a Security System. Thanks for your time and Good Luck and HH.
