Got Some Nice Ones Today!

I hunted a new spot today and it turned out to be a good one! The Walking Half was the first one I have found in a couole of years. The shield nickel is probably the best one I have ever found condition wise. The 66 Indian is totally missing the 1 in the date and is rotated about 22 degrees as you can see by the revere shot!
In addition to these I found 2 more Indians (02, 80), a dateless buffalo and a couple of early wheats. The advertising piece is newspaper type set I believe. The 73 Indian was a field find and it is sad how the fertilizer destroys the coins

It's way better than the pic shows it! Too darn bad they have to rust!

I also have an 1866 I found a number of years ago. I pulled it out to look at it because I noticed that the wear pattern on your coin is very strange. Normally that coin would wear evenly and the 1 in the date would be no worse than the 866 which is the case with my coin. On your coin notice the wear pattern that is localized to the date area and to the immediate left of the date in the Uni. There's an outside chance the 1 was never there. It appears someone tried to make hole in it for neck wear, possibly because the one was missing and it was an oddity. Only an outside chance, but you have to admit the wear pattern is really odd.

Was you using the WOT or the Stock Coil. Which ever, those are some nice finds I Haven't found a Walker for 2 yrs now. Thats ok as the Season is Young yet.

Using the WOT coil! It makes the deeper signals sound close to the surface so I got fooled a lot. I think this was a virgin site so I wasn't used to getting loud blaring signals on OLD coins LOL.

That is a good possibility! I'm not sure what caused that error...I wonder too if it is associated with the rotated die error.

keith how do you take such good pics i need to know the trick

EMail me and I will give you the details. I'm on the road today and can't remember the numbers on the Kodak camera or the scanner LOL.
