Got some oldies today...

Here's some pic's from my hunt today with my new MD buddy Mike. We worked some places that were difficult to hunt and had a couple of interesting finds.

My "best" find was this Large cent. Mike and I thought it was an 1836 but after cleaning it up (a little too much) it looks more like an 1816. Not pretty but I'll take it :)

Here's what we think is a Connecticut Copper. It's in really bad shape but I looked at a couple of pics of them and, while it's tough to see in the pics of this one, I can make out a few "landmarks" of the design. If it is, it's from the 1700's.

If you use your imagination, you can see the 2 "n's":

Then, out of nowhere, I hit this really nice silver target that was only an inch or so down... Got this honkin' 925 ring (size 11 1/2)

Also got a musket ball that looks like it bounced off a couple of trees but Mike got a real nice one; perfect condition! (he also said he stepped on a big ol' snake who wasn't pleased

Ya better bring that large cent to the hunt so I can see it up close!! You guys did great! :)

My lost digging tool  I was pretty amazed to be able to find the exact spot I hunted last week. I tried for about 40 minutes the day I lost it :)
