I know this a Garrett forum but has anyone
heard about or used the new pin pointer by Whites?
I am hearing the thing beats the pro pointer by 4 to 5
inches oout of the box. I am skeptical. Has anyone used it?
I love my pro pointer buut if there is anything to the stories
I may have to give the new one a try.

I'd think that would be working too well, unless you had a quick and easy way to detune it.
I don't want a pinpointer to be too sensitive. Heck, I'm still using the automax v2 that I got
with my Ace 250. Many rag on it, but it does exactly what I want a pinpointer to do, and it's
adjustable which I actually prefer. I normally run the sens right on the edge of tripping and
it's just right for normal use.
But when getting close to something that seems vague, "usually fairly large", I like being
able to lower the sens. Even with the V2, which assume does not go as deep as the propointer,
I've never wished for it to go deeper. I just don't need it. I get close enough with the pinpoint on
the Ace 250.
The only bad part about the V2 is it's bulky and fairly easy to break. It's a wonder I haven't
broke mine yet as long as I've had it. But it will hold up as long as you don't use it for a digger,
drop it on cement, or sit on it.. lol.
