GP 3500 for VA relic hunt

Does anyone use a GP 3500 to relic hunt in VA? How good of a machine is it? What settings will work in that Culpeper soil? I will be using one in a couple weeks so any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Jeff

:ausflag: Hi Jeff the 3500 are a great detector we used them for gold prospecting ,you will find deep targets .The discriminator on all minelab pulse induction detectors is not the best you have to be nearly on the target before it disc .As far as the settings run a stable threshold use head phones just use the one dd coil until you under stand what the detector is telling you,if you have not detected before this may take some time. There is a quick start set up that came with extremes 3000 and 3500 this would be a good starting point from there you can alter a few setting to suite the conditions and you hope this helps

Thanks John for responding and the advice. I will do like you say and start with the Quick Start setup and take it from there.

Hey Jeff,
You might wanna take a target
When your there an bury it about a foot
Down then after you do the auto tune
Play around with the manual tune knob
Until you get the best response from your
Target. One of the main things to practice
Is distinguishing between that soft "warble"
In the threshold and that soft break in the
Threshold when your over a button a foot
Plus down.go slow an scrub the ground.

Good luck Joey

Works perfect in Culpepper.
