GPS Help

I picked up an eTrex GPS. I am happy with it . I dont need all of the mapping features found on more sophisticated models.

My question is how do I download positions? I have the cable, but all of the garmin software is not compatible with the etrex. There is nothing in the manual about this.

For transferring the positions, AFAIK, basic eTrex is compatible with Garmin MapSource. Naturally, maps can't be transfered to eTrex.
The cheapest version of MapSource is Trip $ Waypoint Manager.

Yes, it is MapSource except, it has no maps.
You can also try some free or pay for 3rd party software.
I sell TTQV - you can download free trial at www.canadianmaps.ca
Also, do a quick google search for: WinG7To
It's a free Windows software that can transfer data to / from most receivers.
